On the Amenability of Ghost Imaging to Large Parallel Acceleration Factors

چکیده
Introduction Ghost imaging is a newly proposed methodology for magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) that eliminates the need for image subtraction. Using a 3D pulse sequence that acquires slices outside of the body, the method works by modulating arterial signal to produce ghost artifacts. Arterial ghost artifacts localizing in air outside of the body are then processed and viewed along multiple orientations as is possible with conventional MRA. Given the sparsity of the arterial ghost artifacts located outside of the body and the complete absence of background signal, Ghost imaging may support increased levels of parallel acceleration. We tested the hypothesis that Ghost MRA may enable higher acceleration factors than conventional, subtraction-based MRA.

The Essence of Half-FOV Shift Ghost Imaging
Introduction: Ghost imaging and especially its applications to MR angiography (MRA) have been proposed as an improvement over the conventional magnitude subtraction based imaging methods, such as Fresh Blood Imaging (FBI) [1]. There are basically two types of ghost MRA; type I and II. Type I is usually performed without gating, by summing outside the body ghost artifacts created from uncontroll...
متن کاملHighly Accelerated Contrast-Enhanced MR Angiography using Ghost Imaging
Introduction: Contrast-enhanced MRA (CE-MRA) is a well-established methodology that accurately depicts vessel morphology in multiple vascular territories. In order to minimize the signal contribution from background tissues, a precontrast data set is typically subtracted from the post-contrast data set. Parallel acceleration techniques such as GRAPPA and SENSE are routinely used to improve spat...
متن کاملNear-Minimum-Time Motion Planning of Manipulators along Specified Path
The large amount of computation necessary for obtaining time optimal solution for moving a manipulator on specified path has made it impossible to introduce an on line time optimal control algorithm. Most of this computational burden is due to calculation of switching points. In this paper a learning algorithm is proposed for finding the switching points. The method, which can be used for both ...

Brugha and Bruen (2014) raise a number of compelling issues related to the interaction between politics and policy in the global health context. The first question that their views invite is whether this is, at heart, best characterized as a benign or malign influence. Many commentators have suggested that this overlap should be discouraged (see, for example, Marseille et al 2002; Thomas & Webe...
متن کاملHigh-resolution fMRI with higher-order generalized series imaging and parallel imaging techniques (HGS-parallel).
PURPOSE To develop a novel approach for high-resolution functional MRI (fMRI) using the conventional gradient-echo sequence. MATERIALS AND METHODS Echo-planar imaging (EPI) techniques have generally been used for fMRI studies due to their fast imaging time. However, it is difficult for studying brain function at the submillimeter level using this sequence. In addition, EPI techniques have som...
